It's funny, I just read an article that compared being redhead and left handed with being transgender. The article said the percentage of each in society was about the same and, in many ways, society treats them all as outliers.

I am a transwoman and I regularly feel the intrusion in my privacy by people who have an incredible level of insensitivity. Fortunately they are the minority.
