James transitioning throws your entire cis gender life into a blender and you don't know until you come out what you will be left with. The phrase YMMV is fully operative.

I have tried to be brutally honest with myself regarding all of my relationship as I go through this emotional acid bath. Gender identity is a huge social construct that we all rely on to build relationships.

By transitioning I am pulling out an important jenga block. I won't know if the relationship will collapse or not until I pull it out. It's no ones fault if it falls.

It is all part of the unusual sadness that people who are transgender have to deal with.

Thank you for you wonderful empathy.

After decades of denial I finally answered the question “What’s wrong with me?” The answer is “Nothing”. I am transgender and I am OK.
