Mrs. Capricious and Troy I dream of a world where everyone’s gender is accepted and we could focus on world hunger or global warming. I truly do but unfortunately gender particularly being transgender ignites such deep anger in people.

I will have to disagree with “This kind of alarmism, underwritten by a puritanical regard for other people's bodies, is horribly ill-judged.”

Women should be our allies, instead there are those that attack us for so many reasons and with such intense passion, it defies reason and that is because it is emotionally based. All I want to do is not throw gasoline on this emotional fire, at least for now.

Maybe I am puritanical but so is most of the world we are fighting in. We are in a “hearts and mind” battle for acceptance so I believe that a little sensitivity at this point will allow the world to stop functioning on emotion, stop attacking and move onto understanding and acceptance of being transgender.

I hope for a world of tolerance, that you both expect now, that finally catches up.

For the record, I have gone to many nude beaches and really don’t care what you wear or not, just wear sunscreen.

I am sorry I angered you both. That was not my intent. We are all on the same side but disagree about how to fight the battle.

Warm regards,

Emma

After decades of denial I finally answered the question “What’s wrong with me?” The answer is “Nothing”. I am transgender and I am OK.
